1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the website at calorielookup.com ("the site"), an independent nutrition reference. In this policy "we" and "us" mean the site's operator. It does not cover any third-party website you reach by following a link from here, including the restaurant websites cited as data sources.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, collect, or store:

• Names, email addresses, postal addresses, or phone numbers
• Account credentials — there are no accounts on this site
• Payment or financial information — nothing is sold here
• Health or dietary information about you
• Anything you enter into the meal calculator

If you choose to email us, we receive whatever you put in that email. That is the only way personal information reaches us, and it is covered in section 6.

3. The meal calculator

The calculator runs entirely in your browser using nutrition data that is already part of the page. The items you select are held in your browser's memory for as long as the page is open and are discarded when you close or reload it. They are not transmitted to us, not written to cookies or local storage, and not shared with anyone.

4. Information collected automatically

Hosting and security logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like effectively all web hosting, Cloudflare processes technical information necessary to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse — including your IP address, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string, and the time of the request. This processing is carried out by Cloudflare as our hosting and security provider, under Cloudflare's own privacy terms.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are used and roughly how many people visit. It reports aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, and general country-level location. It does not use cookies, does not store identifiers in your browser, and does not fingerprint or track individual visitors across sites. We cannot use it to identify you.

5. Cookies and advertising

Cookies set by this site

The site does not set any cookies of its own, and does not use local storage or session storage.

Advertising

CalorieLookup may display third-party advertising to help cover the cost of running the site. Because advertising changes what happens in your browser, the terms are set out here in full — they apply whenever an ad is served to you, and cost you nothing to read if one isn't.

Where advertising is served on this site:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
• Ad vendors may also receive technical information such as your IP address, device type, and browser in the course of serving and measuring ads.

You can limit personalized advertising at any time:

• Opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google My Ad Center, and read how Google uses advertising data at Google's advertising policies.
• Opt out of personalized advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out page.
• Most browsers also let you block or delete third-party cookies directly in their settings.

We do not provide advertisers with any personal information about you, because we do not hold any — see section 2.

6. If you email us

Email sent to [email protected] is used only to answer you and, where you report a data error, to check and correct it. We don't add correspondents to a mailing list, and we don't sell, rent, or share email addresses. Correspondence is kept only as long as it's useful for handling the matter and any reasonable follow-up.

7. Selling and sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We have no personal information to sell — see section 2.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. These rights are available under the EU and UK GDPR and under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, among other laws.

To exercise any of them, email [email protected] with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. In practice, the only personal information we are likely to hold about you is an email you sent us. We will respond within the time required by the law that applies to you. EU and UK visitors also have the right to complain to their national data protection authority.

9. Children

This site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other sites

Brand pages link to restaurants' own nutrition pages and PDFs so you can verify figures at the source. Those sites are operated by their respective companies and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.

11. International visitors

The site is operated from the United States and served from a global content delivery network. If you visit from outside the United States, the technical information described in section 4 may be processed on servers in the United States or in other countries.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected here on or before the day they take effect.
